This past weekend, we went and hiked to the MT. Timpanogos Caves with the Sampson clan. It is definitely quite the climb but the view and the company was worth it. Anthony volunteered to carry Ryann, and was extremely glad when he reached the "No Metal Child Carriers Beyond This Point", which is what we were using. Ryann enjoyed being outside, the only thing she didn't care for is not being able to go and explore the caves on her own, I told her maybe when she gets older. It was an excellent day, I just love it when we get out of the house and do things as a family, especially with Ryann and seeing her reaction to new things.

I know her first birthday was well over a month ago, but I guess better late than never. Ryann got to have 2 1st Birthday Parties. Her first party was with the Sampson family, while we were down in Lake Powell, and her second was with the McBride's on her birthday.
We took a few gifts for her to open in Lake Powell, one was a build a bear, and she had to give it LOVES immediately, and then went around to everyone in the room and let them give the bear a hug, it was sooo cute. I think her favorite part was when everyone sang Happy Birthday to her, she clapped her hands and just smiled during the whole song. By her second party she had realized that underneath the wrapping paper was something for her, we would open on present she would look at it, and then quickly hand me another present. Anthony and I gave her a wagon, and she loves it when we go on wagon rides. She was spoiled by everyone. Thanks to Everyone for coming, and for the presents.

I decided to make cookies the other day, and also decided
to let Ryann help. I told her about the bosch machine, and
let her play with some of the measuring cups we used, and
as we were making the dry ingredient mix, she decided she
needed to taste the flour, I told her YUCK, and she should
wait and taste the finished product (not the cookie dough, but
the cookie after it has baked, because we don't eat raw cookie
dough (okay I gave her a little taste)), but she smiled and
dipped her little finger in again. So I moved the flour
out of her reach, and we finished baking the cookies. Then we
sat down on the floor and shared a cookie, Ryann wasn't
to interested in it, I say give time she will learn.
